Building websites with PHP is open source and can be done on any operating system. There are a few important tips that can be used and you may not be aware of when starting to use PHP web development. PHP is a type of programming or scripting language used to create web pages and web applications. The full name of PHP is hypertext preprocessor. PHP tends to generally run on servers that use Linux code, which is pretty much all of them.

PHP scripting is used on Linux systems so you can save a lot of time and hassle by developing the code on a Linux system instead of converting the code from a Windows system. Linux is very versatile and you can run Linux on any type of system but there are some few differences that can make converting code and links from windows to Linux.

You may have completely set up your link and you use different cases in all of your links but when you move the application to a Linux server none of the Links work. If you develop the web page on a Linux system, then this is not an issue as all of your links will work. If you are aware of the case sensitivity then you may be able to avoid this issue.

SVN or CVS is also important as the basics to these are that it saves all of your work so that you can restore it to previous versions. This occurs to everyone and you want these different versions available to you.

You can simply go back and restore the version that does work. This is also handy if you have multiple people working on the same web page as it will compile all of the different peoples work.

These two simple and easy suggestions can make your PHP development much easier, specifically when you are just trying to get the hang of PHP development. It is not necessary that you follow these tips but they will make life easier.
