Nursery Rhymes Songs Are Wonderful For Children

November 29th, 2009

Nursery rhymes are fun to say and fun to hear, they provide a grown-up with a welcome chance to put aside the day’s cares and get silly with their children. There is no overstating the value of this, or the ease with which the rhymes allow and even encourage it to happen. Firm, infectious rhythms point the way, even for the hesitant newcomer to read aloud: Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet, eating her curds and whey;

How long has it been since you were a child? Do you think you could still sing old mac donald had a farm song ? as you begin thinking about the tune, the words quickly come back to you. The melody stimulates recall, and the words help you remember the melody. Those who produce television jingles certainly rely on this fact !
Some researchers have found that children remember only a small percentage of what children hear in lecture form. Recall increases when visual aids are included.

But if we teach a child a song and they memorize it, they will recall most of it indefinitely. Not only are they wonderful for stimulating memory but they are wonderful for fun!

Rhymes meet children at eye level with their colorful characters, disarming honesty, and playful feeling for life. Shunning pomposity and turning dull, predictable logic on its head, they miss nothing of sorrow or joy as they offer up words to caution the reckless, embolden the shy, encourage the adventurous, and give the youngest at bedtime the very thing they need: words of comfort, care, and love. Through delightfully and poetically right it is that these strongly flavored, imaginations stretching rhymes should have come to be considered the work of an equally spry and fanciful author a feather personage as kindly and generous as the tooth fairy, Mother Goose.

What picturesdo you see when you think of Humpty dumpty sitting on a wall and how in the world do the horses of the king try to put him together. I always wondered that as a child. It is one of my favorite nursery rhyme songs. Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the king’s horses and all the king’s men couldn’t put humpty dumpty together again. Think of the lessons you could teach with this song. Think of the actions you could use for the song. I love interacting with children you feel real when you look in the eyes of a child and see there excitement, there joy, there love. You can find hundreds of downloads Here: humpty dumpty sat on a wallor Here humpty dumpty song I also have many visual aids and props to help any kind of lesson.
