Registry cleaner or Reg cleaner is a registry repair program that has been out for several years now. The software has gained some popularity and it prompted me to review it myself. I tested it against some of the other registry cleaners, and here are my thoughts.

The most important aspect of a registry cleaner is its ability to detect and repair registry bugs. With our test computer in place, we found it was only able to identity 34% of registry problems. This is a very poor percentage. Specifically it did not perform well in repairing Kernel and Runtime problems. These are very important registry troubles to repair in order to properly maintain the integrity of a system.

The second most important feature of a registry cleaner is its ability to speed up computer performance.
