Is It Foolish to Buy an Electric Car? Perhaps if you would have asked someone ten years ago if they wanted to buy an electric car, they almost certainly would have told you that you were foolish. * Gasoline is a precious natural resource and vital to the world economy. electric vehicles use no gas and require no oil changes. Using fewer fossil fuel can help relieve our recent energy shortages while ensuring that future generations can rely on the same inexpensive, useful, petroleum products that we all take for granted.
* They are quiet. Walking on the streets of a large city could be almost a bliss because it will be so quiet once the old gas engine cars make their way to the junkyard.
* No infrastructure. The cars can be filled up so to speak by just plugging them into an electrical socket.
* Finally, it will end once and for all our dependence on foreign oil — wait, it will eliminate our requirement for any oil.
