One of my favorite pieces of lingerie has got to be the bustier. If you are not quite sure what this is, you might actually have it confused with a corset. Many women do this though, so don’t let it bother you. This is because they almost are identical. In the lingerie world, many people actually call them the twins. The way I help differentiate bustiers from corsets is by remembering that a corset does not always have to cover the bust. The bustier, on the other hand, always will cover the bust, which gives them its name. There also is another difference that helps me keep them apart. A corset’s main purpose is to slim the waistline by several inches. The bustier is meant to enhance the bust. It can slim the waist, but it does not minimize it.

I think the best tip I could give anyone who is asking about bustiers is that you need the best fit possible. The whole point of wearing one is to accentuate your bust and slim your waist, so if you get one in the wrong size, it won’t do anything appealing. The best way you can get the right fit is to buy your bra size. They almost always will be sold by bra size, so if you go with your right size, you will get the right fit.

Another thing that is important to note about bustiers is that the majority of them are not adjustable the way corsets are. Again, this is why they are designed to improve your bust, not slim your waist. Once you get your bustier of your choice, a great place to wear them is when you are wearing something strapless or sleeveless. It will give you great support without showing any lines. This helps a lot in the summer months when we tend to wear tighter fitting clothing. Because they work so well, you will wonder what took you so long to give them a try.
