Tiny Living Room Decorating Tips

After my move, I began to notice that some pieces of my furniture was simply “too big” for my living room. My size of a soft sofa, chair and ottoman is convenient, but a little on a large scale for my new space. Although I like my entertainment center, it takes too much space. I also have a high, open the cupboard that I am referring to as a “storage unit”! It contains the odd assortment of goods, including shoes, magazines, books, receipts and cat toys! This is a little, but very functional unsightly!

1. Shop furniture and accessories, which are a reflection of you: Feng Shui I know that the physical movement of a new residential area generally reflects the internal displacement and the desire for other changes in life. With this in mind, I decided to “shop window” on the “Trend” funnel for furniture and accessories that I really love, you express who I am and who I become. (Click here to view the photos / comment option, which I discuss in this post).

During a recent visit to the salon Baker Furniture in High Point, NC – fall International Home Furnishings Market – I fell in love with several Hollywood Glam room displays. I loved all the luxurious texture, some modern, but timeless and elegant lines of furniture and a sudden gleam with a mirror or a piece of shiny, baubled chandelier. In particular, I was drawn mostly gray, very vignette luxurious room with delightful touches of yellow – very elegant, calming and unique!

So that’s what I ran on the “Trend” with a funnel! I chose “Trend Timeless Glamor” – Inspired by the late 1920’s, 1930’s and early 1940’s, Art Deco, French Art Deco, modern art, and other classic vintage style home decor. I fell in love with Park Avenue Sofa Set and Hoffman baths leather President. I really like the stylish neutral tones, clean lines, nail trim on the sofa and love seat – and these pieces to expose more areas, visual solutions to my living room to watch more!

2. Choose a color palette that makes the room Feel more: Staying in a neutral (but not boring!) The colors and textures in the bundle, there is space to visually expand. I chose Sherwin Williams cocoa and cream color palette for my living room – in addition to oysters Italian silk curtains. Depending on the mood I’m going to, I’d choose the DOTS-Brown area rug for a more modern style and Symphony-brown carpet for luxury, more traditional look.

3. Create the illusion of higher ceilings: painted ceilings and the same color as the walls – or a slightly lighter tone. This provides a more seamless, less defined visual transition from the walls to the ceiling. Hang drapes very close to the ceiling, and it magically gives the effect of higher ceilings, as well.

4. Think carefully about the location of a TV: Plasma TV Stand with Mount – Serenade – really caught my attention as a great alternative to bulky, square cabinet TV, which now takes up too much valuable space. Ideally, televisions and computers should be behind closed doors – or at least out of sight when not in use – so they do not enjoy too much attention. Therefore, it would be better if the new plasma TV and cabinet can be put in a position that is not the first thing you see when you walk into a room – you can place it on the same wall as the main entry door or room.

5. For the universal space, select the home that coordinates with the rest of the room: Instead of a separate room for my home office, my office is currently space in the corner of my living room! Tribeca Loft Office – the desk will provide a large working area for my laptop, but does not take away from the overall visual aesthetics in the living room.

6. Have Fun with accessories: Because I “laid a good foundation with some neutral color and the correct proportions of furniture, now you can have fun and be creative in the choice of emphasis. Some accessory items that would add the finishing touches on my dash all the new “dream” room includes: Black Majesty bowl filled with granite decorative glass balls, Palento table lamp and “Traditions I” Giclee print.

Voila! I feel completely energized and inspired, creating all-new look to my living room – a simple and convenient shopping on trend funnel! I especially like the function of the site design – which enables you to experiment with the outside of their comfort zones and choose to see all together! If you want to share your choice with family and friends, you can publish them on our blog in one easy step by clicking the “blog” on the icon in the top right of your design board. Please feel free to comment on what I wrote about my own experience of recent decline – and I urge you to offer your own tips and ideas about current trends. I’d love to hear from you!
