It’s that time of year again…time to start planning your summer hols if you haven’t already, and Ibiza remains a popular destination for sunshine-seeking Yorkshire lads and lasses. But the island of Ibiza offers so much more than just great weather and seemingly endless parties, especially for those who are seeking a little adventure.

Taking the whole family? Check out the Cap Blanc Aquarium, which has been designed in a natural cave, and see a wide variety of species native to the waters around the island. Or if everyone’s feeling adventurous there’s Ibizawake, where you can enjoy a variety of watersports including wakeboarding, parasailing, scuba diving and jet skiing.

If natural wonders are more your speed, the national parks of Ibiza offer a wealth of stunning features from small islands and streams to forests and hill ranges. Ses Salinas National Park is situated between the south of the island of Ibiza and the north of Formentera, covering an area of 1,786.52 hectares onland and 13,611.80 hectares offshore. Here you will find a wide variety of natural features, from salt lakes and beaches to lunar cords with centuries-old ghost trees, cliffs and rocky coastlines. You may even spot a fishing eagle or peregrine falcon during your visit! A wide variety of natural areas are available to enjoy also. The Cala d’Hort, Cap Llentrisca i Sa Talaia Natural Park and the Es Vedra, Es Vedranell and Els Illots de Ponent Nature reserves are located in the Southwest of Ibiza. These fantastic sites are full of beautiful features such as islets, maritime areas, cliffs, mountain springs, beaches, fields of crops, woods and big massifs.

After all the daytime fun, you can look forward to a relaxing meal at one of the many fine restaurants scattered across the island. Restaurants on the coast generally offer superb fish and seafood dishes, such as “bullit de peix” (fish hotpot), Ibizan paella, or “la burrida de ratjada”, a typical local fish dish. Further inland, you’ll find restaurants typically serving meat-based dishes. Some of the tasty options you’ll find are “arros de matances” (a rice dish with meat), “frita de porc” (a pork dish), and “sofrit pages”, a typical countryside dish. All of these dishes are characteristically rich in flavour and typical of local eating customs. If you’ve still got room after your main course be sure to try “flao”, a delicious tart made from goat and sheep cheeses with mint.

Of course, Ibiza is famous for it’s wide-ranging nightlife, including party-all-night clubs and casinos.

So no matter the reason you want to visit Ibiza, great deals on everything from Leeds Bradford Airport parking to discounted flights can be found across the Internet with just a little effort. It’s never been easier to enjoy some fun in the sun!
