You are visually bombarded with the attractive woman and then beer simultaneously. In a sense, their aim is to transfer your desire for attractive women into a desire of their beer through imagery. You get hungry watching a cooking show. No one ever tells you to get hungry, it just occurs on a subconscious level.
“Drink beer and you’ll get hot women.” You see if they presented that conscious argument to you, you’d probably not take it seriously. Look at the out of shape men drinking their particular brand of beer and you’ll see attractive women are no where to be found. Here’s the big secret though, subconscious persuasions bypass your ability to analyze their validity. It just goes right into your grey matter. You get hungry from the cooking show and if you go to a bar, you probably drink beer. It’s just the way it is.
Use Your Language to Win
So what do the jerks know? Women don’t respond to conscious arguments of being a “nice” guy and the jerks aren’t wasting their time using that. It bypasses their logic and reasoning when you develop a primal subconscious attraction. Because it passes a person’s logic, the ideas seem illogical because they are illogical! These things rarely make sense because they don’t use conscious analysis.
What Difference Does This Make in Real Estate Investing?
The secret power that most jerks use is confidence and assumptive attitude. The same principle is true in real estate investing. So you’ll end up like the lonely “nice” guys if you focus on trying to make sellers like you. In fact, most “nice guys” don’t feel good enough for the woman they’re trying to attract and that is reflected in their way of being one way or another. How are you going to convince a seller or an investor if you don’t feel good enough for the deal already? If you think that you must “be nice” to make them like you, you’re already acting as if they don’t now already like you.
Harness the Subconscious Persuasion
My language wasn’t good enough to close the deals and that’s something I found out through trial and error. I used to ask people “what do you think of the house?” They’d say, “it’s nice, let me think about it for a few days.” Deals never closed for me. My persuasion was meant for them to like me with a conscious persuasion. Do you what I changed it to? “This is a great place, wouldn’t you say? Will your furniture work in this space? Great! Ok well we can move you in on the first of the month, is that fair?”
A few principles were working for me. Firstly, my assumption was that they wanted the property or they wouldn’t have contacted me. In a sense, my subconscious persuasion is that “it’s obvious you should want this place” and so the tenant-buyer will act accordingly. I also subconsciously project the idea of them already owning it. “You want to move in so picture your furniture in here” is my subconscious persuasion.
I understand that it may be incredibly counter-intuitive but understand this, it works. If you want your deals to close more often, there’s a simple 3 step formula you can use.
1. State what outcome you want instead of phrasing it as a question followed by a verification at the end.
For example
So what do you think is so much less effective than “great so we’ll start the agreement on the first, is that fair?”
2. Make a fortune by ending your statement with “is that fair” or a likewise similar verifying question.
3. Leave your contact info and move on if they need to “think about it”. Rarely do people do any thinking about it after you leave.
These techniques may be both subtle and counter-intuitive but they will revolutionize your business. You’ll take your income to the next level by focusing on mastering these strange illogical tools of persuasion.
